BCCI shared the post, in which it was written – After the death of West Indies legend Sir Garfield Sobers on Friday, Team India is wearing a black band to pay tribute to him.

The name of Sir Gary Sobers is counted among the most dangerous all-rounder players in the world. He played 93 test matches for West Indies. During this period he scored 8032 runs at an excellent average of 57.78. He has 26 centuries and 30 half-centuries in his name. He also took 109 catches in fielding. His performance in bowling was also excellent. He took 235 wickets in Test cricket, which includes the feat of taking 5 wickets in an innings 6 times. If we talk about first class cricket, he scored 28,314 runs in 383 matches, in which 86 were included. In bowling he took 1,043 wickets.

While playing for Nottinghamshire in the year 1968, Gary Sobers hit 6 consecutive sixes in one over of Malcolm Nash. He became the first player to achieve this feat in professional cricket. The special thing was that he was not only a fast bowler but could also bowl off spin and leg spin.
