Why is cholesterol increasing rapidly? Control it at home with these home remedies
Today’s fast pace and irregular daily routine has started having a direct impact on people’s health. Wrong eating habits, lack of physical activity and continuous stress gradually disturb the balance of the body, which results in increasing cholesterol.
According to experts, increased cholesterol in the body can cause severe blockage in the heart veins, due to which the risk of serious diseases like heart attack and stroke increases manifold. Consumption of excessive fried, junk food, ghee-butter and processed food is counted among its main reasons.
Why does cholesterol increase?
Cholesterol is like a silent killer, which slowly damages the body. When liver function becomes weak, thyroid activity decreases or there is excessive consumption of steroids, then cholesterol starts increasing.
According to Ayurveda, when phlegm and toxins increase together in the body, cholesterol levels also become unbalanced. There are two types of cholesterol – HDL i.e. good cholesterol and LDL i.e. bad cholesterol. To keep these two balanced, home and Ayurvedic remedies can be adopted.
Home remedies to reduce cholesterol
To control cholesterol, a mixture of half teaspoon ginger juice, half teaspoon lemon juice and 1 clove of garlic can be consumed before meals. Apart from this, consuming Trikatu and honey 2 to 3 times a day is also beneficial. It helps in burning the toxins present in the body and balancing the phlegm.
Medicinal measures will also be useful
Medicinal measures can also be taken to reduce cholesterol. For this, mix three parts Kutki, three parts Chitrak and one fourth part Shilajit and consume it twice a day with warm water.
Decoction of Arjuna bark will give strength
The decoction of Arjuna bark is considered an effective way to reduce cholesterol. It not only helps in reducing cholesterol, but also strengthens the heart and arteries. To make the decoction, boil one spoon of Arjuna bark in two cups of water. When one cup of water is left, filter it and drink it lukewarm.
