The Croatia international has again been a regular for Los Blancos this season, making 27 appearances in all competitions, scoring two goals and registering four assists in the process.

Modric has scored in Real Madrid’s last two games against Valencia and Deportiva Minera in La Liga and the Copa del Rey respectively, and he had been in line to feature against Mallorca on Thursday night.

However, Los Blancos have revealed that the experienced midfielder is out due to a virus.

“Our player Luka Modric is out for today’s match against RCD Mallorca due to a viral process. Pending evolution,” a statement from the Spanish outfit read, and it is unclear at this stage whether he would be back for Sunday’s final if Real Madrid get there.

Federico Valverde, Edward Camavinga and Jude Bellingham will play as the three-man midfield against Mallorca, while Rodrygo, Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior are set to feature in the final third of the field.
