Why is the helicopter made by Airbus in collaboration with Tata so important?
Europe’s leading aircraft manufacturer Airbus will manufacture its H-125 helicopter in India. The final assembly line of the helicopter in Vemagal, Karnataka was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron through virtual medium. Airbus helicopters will be manufactured in Karnataka in collaboration with Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL). This is the country’s first private sector helicopter assembly line. This H125 helicopter of Airbus is special in many ways. It is expected that apart from civil helicopters, Tata can also manufacture the military version H125M here.
This partnership between Tata and Airbus will ensure availability of helicopters in the country. Bruno Ewen, CEO of Airbus Helicopters, says that the helicopter will be manufactured according to the geographical location of the country. The final assembly line will also be able to produce the military version H125M with a high level of local production. With this, the Indian Army will be ready for missions at all times. It will also bring a significant change in the development of the civil helicopter market.

Why will this helicopter be important for the army?
India will currently manufacture civil helicopters. These can be used in disaster, medical emergency, tourism, transportation and government works. The military version of this helicopter, H125M, apart from flying at high altitude, does reconnaissance and surveillance work very well. The special thing is that this helicopter has very low noise.
It will also prove to be very useful in transporting goods to the soldiers up to the snowy mountains. It can be used in relief and rescue work in war or any other emergency.
India will sell helicopters to the world
Airbus’ H125 is the only helicopter in the world, which has landed on the top of Mount Everest. With this you can estimate the capability of the helicopter. This is why it is more advanced than the existing light helicopter. Although it is a single engine helicopter. It is extremely popular not only in India but also in South Asia. Apart from its own needs, India will also export helicopters to South Asia from the Karnataka assembly line. H125 helicopters have completed more than 40 million flight hours so far.

What are the features?
According to the Airbus website, the H125 helicopter is part of the Ecureuil family. It has a total of more than 7,200 aircraft with more than 2,600 operators in 137 countries. The helicopter can seat one pilot and up to six passengers or two pilots and four passengers. The helicopter is fitted with a touchscreen glass cockpit instrument panel. It provides better safety and control to the pilot. It also has wireless connection. With the help of which the helicopter automatically sends the flight data at the end of the flight.
This helicopter is capable of carrying out missions in the best possible manner even in extremely hot conditions. In 2005, this helicopter made a world record by landing and taking off at a height of 8,848 meters on Mount Everest. Till date no one has been able to break it. In 2013, the same helicopter also conducted the world’s highest long-line rescue operation at an altitude of 7,800 meters on Lhotse, the world’s fourth highest mountain.
