Amidst the increasing tension between America and Iran, US President Donald Trump revealed a major military rescue operation in a press conference. During this, he mentioned the strength and capability of the American Army and said that no other country in the world has such military power. Trump also gave a strong statement regarding Iran and said that if America wants, it can destroy the whole of Iran in a single night and possibly it could happen on Tuesday night.
What did Trump say in the press conference?
Trump told in the press conference that this mission was very complex and risky. The US Army launched a large-scale operation to save the pilot of an injured F-15E fighter plane. About 200 soldiers were involved in this operation, whose only objective was to bring back one pilot safely. He said that usually such missions are rare, but the American Army does not leave any of its soldiers behind.
According to Trump, this operation lasted for about seven hours during the day in enemy territory. 21 aircraft were deployed in this, while overall 155 aircraft were part of this operation. These included bombers, fighter jets, refueling tankers and rescue aircraft. He told that the pilot was seriously injured and was trapped in dangerous enemy territory. He remained hidden for 48 hours and himself shared his location, after which a major operation was launched to rescue him safely.
Trump’s claim
Trump claimed that America suffered no loss in this entire operation. He also said that a C-130 Hercules aircraft could not take off due to technical reasons and poor conditions, so it was destroyed so that it could not fall into the hands of the enemy.
He also said that some information was leaked during this mission, which made the operation more challenging. Describing this leak as a serious threat, Trump said that it will be investigated and the person responsible will be found.
At the same time, CIA Director John Ratcliffe described this mission as extremely difficult. He said that finding a soldier hiding in enemy territory was like finding a grain of sand in the desert. The CIA adopted special tactics to hide the pilot’s location and confuse the enemy. Eventually the pilot was found and after confirming that he was alive, the entire rescue operation was carried out.
