Vande Bharat Express train running between Udaipur and Agra Cantt will stop from 15th February i.e. Sunday. Railways has not shown any reservation for this train on this route after today i.e. 14th February. Actually, this train was run between Udaipur and Agra only two years ago (September–2024). In such a situation, this train will stop from 16th February. Also, the number of this train will be canceled and will also be removed from the list.
Giving information, it has been told that when this train was run, initially the train was getting a lot of passengers but after that the number of passengers declined rapidly.

Why is Vande Bharat closing?
The distance from Udaipur to Agra is 613 kilometers. Vande Bharat train covers this distance in 8.45 hours. Passengers have to complete this journey sitting, due to which their back gets stiff. The fare of this train is also higher than other trains.

Apart from this, there is a difference of only 30 minutes in the arrival timing of other trains and Vande Bharat. Whereas the fares of other trains are much cheaper and there is also the facility of lying down. This is the reason why Vande Bharat train is not getting passengers on the Udaipur-Agra route. Railways is incurring huge losses on this route.

These trains will be closed
According to North Western Railway, two Vande Bharat Express trains running from Udaipur City will be stopped this week. Train No. 20981/82 (Udaipur City-Agra Cantt-Udaipur City) will be discontinued from 15th February, 2026. Whereas train number 20979/80 (Udaipur City-Jaipur-Udaipur City) will stop from 14 February 2026.
Also the Railway Board approved a new Vande Bharat Express between Udaipur and Ahmedabad (Asarwa). This train will run 6 days a week.
