Putin is spending billions to stay young, know about the President’s $28 billion long-life mission

People all over the world are searching for ways to live a long and healthy life. But some countries and billionaires have also started investing in this direction on a large scale. Russian President Vladimir Putin is also among those who are investing money in new technologies to slow or stop the aging process.

Recently, the Russian government has started work on a project which is being called “anti-aging vaccine”. A budget of about 2 trillion rubles (about 28 billion dollars) has been fixed for this project.

What is Russia’s anti-aging vaccine?

According to Russian officials, scientists are developing a gene therapy that can block a receptor called RAGE present in the body. Scientists claim that when this receptor is activated, it signals aging to the cells. If this can be prevented then the cells can remain young for a long time. However, sufficient scientific evidence of the effectiveness of this technology is not yet publicly available. Therefore, experts currently consider it to be in the initial stage of research.

Scientists in Russia are also working on technologies related to growing and transplanting human organs. According to reports, in a conversation between Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping, technologies were mentioned that can help in keeping people healthy for a long time in the future. Some Russian scientists claim that they are working on experiments like bioprinting technology and growing human organs in animal bodies. However, the international scientific community says that sufficient research papers and independent scientific evidence are not yet available to prove these claims.

What are Peptides and Cryotherapy?

  • Peptide based treatments have also been discussed in Russia’s longevity project. Peptides are series of small amino acids and are used in some medicines. For example, insulin is also a type of peptide.
  • But in recent years, many such peptide products have also come into the market, whose safety and effectiveness have not been completely proven. Experts advise to avoid using such products without doctor’s advice.
  • Putin has also praised the use of cryotherapy i.e. extremely low temperature chamber. However, dermatologists believe that exposure to extreme cold can cause harm to the body and in some cases can even cause serious injuries.

What do modern experiments on longevity say?

Nowadays the trend of “biohacking” is increasing rapidly. This means trying to improve the body through lifestyle, technology and health related measures. American entrepreneur Brian Johnson is quite popular in this field. Brian Johnson spends approximately $2 million every year on his anti-aging plan. However, most of the suggestions given by him recently include very general and scientifically considered health rules.
