Why did KL Rahul go unsold in the Maharaja Trophy auction? Know the real reason here
KL Rahul Unsold In Maharaja Trophy 2026: A surprising news is coming out about the Indian cricket team’s star wicketkeeper-batsman KL Rahul. This experienced player had drafted his name in the Maharaja Trophy 2026 auction, but no team bid on this player in the auction and he remained unsold. The question in everyone’s mind is why no team has shown interest in buying KL Rahul? So in this article let us tell you about the reason due to which no franchise bought KL.
Why did KL Rahul not find a buyer in Maharaja Trophy 2026?
Star Indian batsman KL Rahul is the vice-captain of the Indian Test team for the one-off Test series against Afghanistan starting from June 6 in New Chandigarh. No team showed interest in buying KL Rahul in the Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 2026 auction being held on Friday and he remained unsold.
Actually, KL has to play Test from 6th June and then ODI series with Afghanistan from 13th June to 20th June. This made him unavailable for the opening matches of the Mahaja Trophy. As his availability for the tournament was not confirmed, teams showed no interest in buying him in the first round. Even if Rahul had found a buyer in the auction, he would definitely not have been able to play in the initial matches of the tournament due to being busy in the ODI series against Afghanistan. Rahul is the designated wicketkeeper-batsman for India in the ODI format, and India’s third ODI against Afghanistan is scheduled to be played on June 20 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
