Iran News: iran It has been said that now even children up to 12 years of age can participate in war related support work. According to the country’s government media, an official of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) said that the minimum age for war-related support roles has been reduced.
According to Iran International English, Rahim Nadali, the cultural officer of the Guards in Tehran, said that under an initiative called “For Iran”, people are being recruited to help in tasks such as patrolling, checkpoints and logistics.
Why is Iran throwing young children into war?
Rahim Nadali said that the people who are coming forward are getting younger and want to participate, so we have made the minimum age 12 years. He also added that 12 and 13 year old children can also participate if they wish.
These statements were broadcast in government media during coverage related to the war. This step has been taken at a time when Iran has promised not to involve children in military activities under the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.
Trump’s warning to Iran?
Earlier, US President Donald Trump warned Iran that it should get serious about the agreement as soon as possible, otherwise it may have to face the “final blow”. Trump’s statement came at a time when he had said a day earlier that an agreement to end the war was close, although Tehran had rejected his 15-point ceasefire plan.
Iran has begun blocking ships in the Strait of Hormuz that it considers linked to the US and Israel’s war efforts, while some other ships are being allowed limited passage. Gulf Cooperation Council Secretary General Jassem Mohammed al-Budawi said that Iran is also charging fees for safe passage through this waterway.
Meanwhile, America is preparing to deploy thousands of troops, who can be used for ground action in Iran if needed. The death toll in the war is continuously increasing. More than 1,900 people have died in Iran, while about 1,100 people have died in Lebanon. Apart from this, many people have died in Israel and other areas also. 13 American Army soldiers have also been killed in this conflict. At the same time, millions of people in Lebanon and Iran have been forced to leave their homes.
