Why the ‘UNO Reverse’ Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 promo is going viral?
In a historic first for the sport, the official broadcaster has launched a viral “Uno Reverse” promotional campaign for the Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.
Traditionally, male cricketers have been used to promote women’s tournaments but this year the roles have been flipped following the Indian women’s team’s recent World Cup glory.
WPL superstars Shafali Verma, Jemimah Rodrigues and Deepti Sharma are the primary faces of the new campaign.
In the high-energy advertisement, the stars are seen wearing the men’s jerseys, including that of captain Suryakumar Yadav. This creative shift comes just after the women’s team silenced critics by winning the 50-over World Cup in November 2025.
The promo has struck a chord with fans globally for its refreshing perspective. In the video, the champions reflect on their own success while challenging the men to follow suit, stating:
“On 2 November 2025, a dream came true. But now it’s time to get onto the field again, roar again and wave our flags once again. Because now it’s time for our men to shine. We got one cup home, we won’t let the other one go.”
The campaign’s most talked-about moment occurs when Shafali Verma delivers a confident punchline that has since gone viral: “After all, our boys are no less than our girls.”
With the tournament set to begin on February 7, the “Uno Reverse” ad has successfully set the stage for a home World Cup where the men’s team will aim to defend their title under the watchful eyes of their world-champion female counterparts.
