During an event in Goa, when Dhoni was asked about playing in the IPL next year, he said, 'I want to enjoy whatever I have been able to play in the last year of cricket.' When you play cricket as a professional game, it becomes difficult to enjoy it as a game. This is what I want to do. it is not easy. The feelings keep coming, the promises keep coming. I want to enjoy the game for the next few years.
Dhoni's next words made it even more clear that IPL is definitely on his mind. The former captain of Chennai Super Kings said, “I have to keep myself fit for nine months, so that I can play IPL for two and a half months. You need to plan for it, but also get some rest.”
Will Mahi become an uncapped player?
Being a 5-time IPL winning captain and still the biggest name in the tournament, his playing will be good news for the IPL. CSK can retain Dhoni, who last played for Team India in 2019, as an uncapped player for a fee of Rs 4 crore. A player who has not played international cricket for India for 5 years will be considered uncapped. Dhoni will get the benefit of this rule.
