This is because according to a report in the Daily Mail, US President Donald Trump on Sunday (January 11) directed senior special forces commanders to begin preparing ‘contingency plans for a possible invasion of Greenland’. Apart from this, a report in the New York Times claims that Trump has been informed about several military options targeting Iran in recent days.

According to the Daily Mail report, Trump’s directive, however, is being opposed by top military officials, who are questioning both its legality and political feasibility. According to the report, Trump has instructed the Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) to prepare an attack plan.
But this proposal is said to be opposed by the Joint Chiefs of Staff, who argue that any such operation would be illegal and would not receive Congress’s support. According to the generals, the Greenland plan is absurd and illegal. Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social that Iran is probably closer to freedom than ever before. He also said that America is ready to provide all possible help.
