The police investigation revealed that Ruby and Gaurav had hatched such a clever conspiracy that no one could suspect anything. In front of the society and family, both of them called each other brother and sister. The children of the house used to call Gaurav as ‘Mama’. The neighbors also thought that he was Ruby’s brother and often comes to the house. But the truth was that there was a deep love relationship between the two. On this pretext, Gaurav used to easily come to the house, give chocolates to the child and meet Ruby when Rahul was out. The girl told the police that when father was not at home, Gaurav and two-three other people would come and give us chocolates and send us out. This ‘uncle’ lie kept his conspiracy hidden for a long time.

Brutal murder done with iron rod and hammer

On the night of 18th November, Rahul came home and caught Ruby in an objectionable position with Gaurav. There was an angry fight and both of them together attacked Rahul while he was sleeping, with an iron rod and a hammer used to hammer nails into shoes. He died on the spot. The next day both of them cut the dead body into pieces using a grinder machine. The torso and severed hands were thrown into a drain 800 meters away from the house, while the head was thrown into the Ganga at Ramghat. The clothes were burnt so that they could not be identified.

Fake missing report and tattoo revealed the secret

Six days after the murder, Ruby filed a false missing report of her husband. After 27 days, a rotten torso was found in the drain, which was being scratched by dogs. In the postmortem, ‘Rahul’ tattoo was seen on the severed hand and the deceased was identified. During the search of the house, blood stains were found, the statements of the neighbors and the girl deepened the suspicion on Ruby.
