Will India U19 vs Sri Lanka U19 & Pakistan U19 vs Bangladesh U19 Semi-Finals Be Cancelled?

The rain delay has caused the toss for the first semi-final match between India and Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup Under-19 to be postponed. The game is taking place at the Cricket Academy in Dubai on Friday, December 19.

The rain has come to a halt, but the tarpaulin remains over the pitch and the main field area to prevent them from getting damaged. The ground is still damp, and the officials are keeping their fingers crossed that the weather improves and the playing conditions become favorable before proceeding with the toss.

Important update: Dubai has had rain, and it has been the reason for the delay. The match officials are monitoring the situation very closely and will make their decision based on the playing surface’s safety. A ground inspection is scheduled for about an hour from now, at 10:00 AM local time (11:30 AM IST). The game may still get underway if the conditions are right. The latest time for starting a reduced 20-over match is 2:02 PM local time (3:32 PM IST). More news is expected shortly.

In other news Weather in Dubai has played a villainous role in delaying the much-awaited Pakistan U19 vs. Bangladesh U19 semi-final match in the Men’s Under-19 Asia Cup. Rain at the venue on the day of the match made the ground wet preventing the umpires from tossing the coin.

The rain has stopped now and although there is no rainfall, strong winds are affecting the ground. However, the concern regarding the wet outfield persists. To eliminate any risk of injury to players, officials have taken the decision to wait for the conditions to improve before starting the match.

The pitch and the ground area in the middle are still under full cover as protective measure. The next inspection by the umpires is planned for 11:30 AM IST (10:00 AM local time) after which a decision on the toss will be announced.
