Will Indians get American citizenship in just 3 steps? Understand the whole process here – ..

US Citizenship For Indians: There are millions of Indians living in America, some of whom have come here for studies, while the number of people who have gone to America for jobs is also very high. However, all of them are allowed to stay in America only till the validity of the visa. This is the reason why many Indians want to acquire American citizenship. But very few people know that there is a scheme through which no job is required to get citizenship.

Actually, we are talking about the EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program, through which foreign investors and their families can invest in America and get citizenship here. This program was started in 1990 to create jobs through foreign investment. Let us know which three steps Indians will have to follow through EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program and after that they will easily get American citizenship.

Step 1: Get a Conditional Green Card

The first step to obtaining US citizenship through the EB-5 program is to obtain a conditional green card, which allows temporary residence in the country for two years. To obtain a green card, an investor must make a substantial investment and meet employment creation criteria. An investor needs to invest between $800,000 and $10,50,000. This investment should create at least 10 jobs in two years.

The money held by an investor participating in the investor program must be earned legally. He should also not have any criminal record. After checking all the records, the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) can apply for a conditional green card. Its biggest advantage is that through this green card, the investor and his family members can stay in America for two years.

Step 2: Obtaining Permanent Residency

After getting a conditional green card, the investor can stay in America for two years. During this time, it must meet all the requirements of the EB-5 program, including continued investment and job creation. The investor must file Form I-829 90 days before the end of the two-year period. This is a type of petition requesting USCIS to remove conditions imposed on permanent resident status.

This process takes 2 to 4 years to complete. During this time, the investor can stay in the US until USCIS approves his petition. Once the petition is approved, the investor and his family get permanent resident status, which is called a green card. After getting the green card, the investor and his family can live and work in America as long as they want. This is a big step towards citizenship.

Step 3: Apply for US Citizenship

The final step in obtaining US citizenship is naturalization. To be eligible for this, the investor must have had residency status for at least five years. In simple words, these five years are those that started after obtaining the conditional green card and continue after obtaining the green card. If the investor has lived in the US for five years, he or she can apply for Form N-400 through USCIS.

The investor will have to pass an English test during the naturalization process. Apart from this, you will also have to give a civics exam, in which questions related to American history, government, constitution are asked. The investor will also have to prove that he has lived in the US as a good person for the last five years. After Form N-400 is accepted, the investor and his family members are called to the citizenship program, where they have to take the oath of allegiance to the United States and then get citizenship.
