Once the merger is completed, Disney+ Hotstar will also be included in the Reliance OTT platform. Additionally, Mukesh Ambani's company can operate on a single platform instead of two separate OTT platforms, ET said in a news report.

Jio Cinema may be closed with this.. Before Jio Cinema, Viacom 18 had its own OTT platform 'Voot'. Later the company merged with Jio Cinemas.
Reliance Industries has completed almost all the formalities for the acquisition of Disney Star India Business. Not only this, the company has obtained almost all the regulatory approvals. After this deal, the control of the new company Star-Viacom will be with Reliance.
One of the reasons for merging Jio Cinema with Disney+Hotstar is that Disney+Hotstar has over 50 million downloads on Google Play Store. But the number of Jio Cinema downloads is only 10 crores. Not only this, Disney + Hotstar has 3.55 crore paid subscribers.
