There has been a demand to cancel Rahul Gandhi's Indian citizenship on the basis of his alleged British citizenship. The country's Deputy Solicitor General SB Pandey has told the High Court that the process is going on. Earlier, the petition against Rahul Gandhi's citizenship was heard in the Lucknow bench on October 24.

According to the petition of the Lucknow bench, Rahul Gandhi has claimed to be a citizen of more than one country. The court had sought information in this regard from the Union Home Ministry. S. Vignesh Shishir has filed this petition. Earlier in July 2024, the court had rejected his plea, asking him to file a complaint with the competent authority under the Citizenship Act. But when no action was taken there, he again reached the court.

This person from Karnataka has claimed that Rahul Gandhi is a citizen of Britain. On the basis of secret information, he has claimed that Rahul Gandhi has British citizenship. Due to this, the petitioner has demanded cancellation of Rahul's Indian citizenship.
