New Delhi: Ravichandran Ashwin excelled with both the bat and ball guiding India to a momentous victory in the first Test match against Bangladesh in Chennai. Ashwin scored his sixth Test century (113) to help India post a commanding total and then shined with the ball in the second innings as claimed 6 wickets to power the hosts to a mammoth 280-run win.

Four more wickets in the Kanpur Test match will take Ashwin to 52 wickets and make him the leading wicket-taker during the World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25 cycle. Currently, Josh Hazlewood leads the chart.
