Digital India New Start: The India AI Impact Summit 2026 brings together AI experts and industry leaders from across the world to position India as a leader in the responsible and inclusive Artificial Intelligence revolution. AI will become a strength for developed India by 2047

Mukesh Dhirubhai Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries Limited, called it a historic turning point in India’s technological history. He said, “The Global AI Impact Summit is a defining moment in India’s technological history, a moment when India pledges to make AI the driving force to realize its dream of a developed India: the goal of becoming a fully developed nation by 2047, the glorious centenary of our independence.”

Emphasizing that AI should be made accessible to the masses rather than limited to a few hands, he said, “But there is another path forward: a future where AI is available, affordable and beneficial to all.” India believes in this other future.” He also announced major investments in sovereign computing infrastructure, green energy-powered data centers and edge intelligence.

AGI will bring a bigger change than the Industrial Revolution?

Demis Hassabis, CEO of DeepMind Technologies, pointed to the next leap in AI, saying, “And now in 2026, we are at another inflection point, where Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) is on the horizon, perhaps within the next five years.”

Describing its impact as historic, he said, “I think its impact will be about 10 times greater than that of the Industrial Revolution, but it will happen at 10 times greater speed.” Hassabis described scientific accuracy and international cooperation as keys to a secure future for AI.

Embrace AI, but also build the next generation

Vianai Systems Inc. Vishal Sikka, CEO, said, “People who know how to use AI are surprisingly effective with it.”

He also warned that it is important to pay attention to security, reliability and energy challenges. He clearly said, “We have to not only master today’s AI, but also go beyond it and reach new heights.”

Rishad Premji, Executive Chairman, Wipro, said, ‘Once in a generation a technology emerges that not only changes what we do, but actually transforms our actions. To me, AI is definitely that technology.”

He stressed, “Technology creates value only when it is applied responsibly and comprehensively to solve real-world problems.” He described the use of AI in health, agriculture and public services as a golden opportunity for India.
