Will TMC really break? The decision will be taken shortly

After the departure of Mamata Banerjee government in West Bengal, disunity is now clearly visible in Trinamool Congress. The party’s tussle has come to the fore publicly on Wednesday. Now Trinamool Congress leaders may divide into two groups in the state assembly. This crisis is deepening for Trinamool Congress. While entering the Assembly, many TMC MLAs did not deny the rumors that more than 50 party MLAs had come along with another MLA.

This disintegration of Trinamool Congress can prove to be a big blow for Mamata Banerjee. Now two camps may divide in Trinamool Congress. If this happens then it will be a big step for BJP. TMC MLA Mustafizur Rahman said that news is being received from outside that signatures of 59 MLAs have been obtained. He himself has also signed. Another MLA Priya Paul said, ‘I am going inside, will tell after the meeting.’

Why suddenly TMC started dividing?

The crisis started when two Trinamool Congress MLAs Sandipan Saha and Ritabrata Banerjee lodged a complaint with the Assembly Secretariat. Following the complaint, the state CID has called Mamata Banerjee’s nephew and party’s number two leader Abhishek Banerjee for questioning.

Crisis deepens in Trinamool Congress

CID has also recorded statements of many MLAs. The investigation is ongoing on allegations of forgery. The case was initially related to a dispute over signatures, but has now exposed deep divisions within the party. This has happened at the same time when TMC is trying to recover from its biggest electoral defeat in the last ten years.

How did the uproar start?

During the nomination of Leader of Opposition (LoP), Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari claimed in the press conference that two TMC MLAs have complained about their forged signatures. These signatures were put on the proposal to make Shobhandeb Chattopadhyay the leader of the opposition.
