Will UP be divided? Demand to form a new state, will be formed by separating these 28 districts
UP State Division News: The murmur of division of Uttar Pradesh has once again intensified. This discussion that started in the corridors of politics gained momentum when two big leaders of BJP openly advocated making Purvanchal a separate state.
During a program organized in Amethi, former Union Minister Dr. Sanjay Singh and former Minister Dr. Ameeta Singh again raised the issue of division of Uttar Pradesh. The leaders argue that the huge population of Uttar Pradesh and its geographical expansion is a big administrative challenge. He believes that until Purvanchal does not get the status of a separate state, complete development of this region is not possible.
Difficult to run such a big state
According to Dr. Sanjay Singh, it is very difficult to run such a large state with a single administrative structure. Being a small state, governance comes closer to the people. Development works can be monitored in a better way.
These 28 districts will be included in the proposed Purvanchal state
If Purvanchal state is formed, it is proposed to include 8 divisions of Uttar Pradesh in it. According to the blueprint given by Dr. Sanjay Singh, these districts are-
Varanasi Division– Varanasi, Chandauli, Jaunpur, Ghazipur.
Azamgarh Division– Azamgarh, Mau, Ballia.
Prayagraj Division– Prayagraj, Kaushambi, Pratapgarh.
Mirzapur Mandal– Mirzapur, Sonbhadra, Bhadohi.
Ayodhya Mandal– Ayodhya, Akbarpur (Ambedkar Nagar), Sultanpur, Amethi.
Devipatan Mandal-Gonda, Balrampur, Bahraich, Shravasti.
Gorakhpur division-Gorakhpur, Maharajganj, Deoria, Kushinagar.
settlement board-Basti, Siddharthnagar, Sant Kabir Nagar.
A big state- If this demand turns into reality, then it can become the 14th largest state of the country with a population of 7 crore 98 lakh.

What is the logic?
The most popular name for this new state is Purvanchal State, because it preserves the cultural and linguistic identity of this region. Dr. Ameeta Singh says that Purvanchal has no dearth of resources. It has fertile land, capacity to generate electricity and in terms of tourism, there are world famous religious places like Ayodhya and Kashi. Despite this, migration, floods and poor education and health are the major challenges here. He believes that by forming a separate state, these local problems will be solved on priority basis.
