Will we save the party or the family? Rebel MLA told Upendra Kushwaha on making his son a minister – You have set the whole family in one stroke.
Patna : Serious differences have started emerging in the Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) regarding the leadership of Upendra Kushwaha. Senior party MLA and old associate of Upendra Rameshwar Mahato has openly expressed his opposition. Mahato said in his statement that the decision to make son Deepak Prakash a minister is not in the interest of both the party and the public. Calling it a suicidal step, he demanded reconsideration from the National President.
Party leadership now on the path of nepotism
Let us tell you that Rameshwar Mahato also raised the question whether the party’s leadership has now embarked on the path of nepotism. He alleged that Upendra Kushwaha has ignored the basic principles of the party to establish his family politically. Mahato clarified that his protest is not just personal but to maintain the institutional strength of the party and democratic values.
For the first time an MLA raised his voice
This is the first case in RLM when an MLA came forward so vocally after the formation of the government. Apart from Upendra Kushwaha’s wife Snehlata Devi, the other three party MLAs, Anand Madhav, Rameshwar Mahato and Alok Singh, have won the elections. The decision to make Deepak Prakash a minister has fueled discontent in the party and organizational stability could become a big challenge for the RLM in future. Mahato is currently in Delhi and also met with BJP working president Nitin Naveen.
Emerging nepotism in RLM and dissatisfaction over leadership decisions have indicated weakening of party unity. Political analysts believe that the ongoing differences and resentment within the party can impact the upcoming elections and the strategy of the organization. If balance is not struck in time, RLM may have to face huge political losses.
