Will Zaheer Khan enter Team India? Will prepare a new army of fast bowlers

Indian cricket’s legendary fast bowler Zaheer Khan is once again in the headlines. There is news that he may soon become a part of the coaching structure of the Indian team. The Board of Control for Cricket in India has taken a big step towards creating a new generation of fast bowlers and has approached Zaheer Khan.

Hero of 2011 World Cup, now preparing for a new role

Zaheer Khan had performed brilliantly in the 2011 ODI World Cup. He was jointly among the bowlers taking the most wickets in the tournament. Zaheer, who played for India for 14 years, was known for his accurate line-length and swing. Now it is believed that his experience can prove to be very beneficial for the young fast bowlers of the Indian team.

Special Camp at Center of Excellence

According to reports, Zaheer Khan may conduct a special training camp at the Center of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru in the first week of March. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had on February 9 invited applications for fast bowling coach for the Center of Excellence in Bengaluru. Earlier, the tenure of Australian coach Troy Cooley ended in December.

Coaching experience in franchise cricket

Zaheer Khan has already played the role of coaching and mentor. He has been associated with Lucknow Super Giants. Apart from this, has also worked with Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians. According to a source, Zaheer is excited to take up the coaching responsibility and believes that he can groom the next generation of bowlers.

Can you become the bowling coach of Team India in future?

At present, the options for fast bowling in the Indian team seem limited. In such a situation, the board wants to prepare a strong fast bowling unit keeping the future in mind. At present, the bowling coach of the Indian team is Morne Morkel, who is considered close to Gautam Gambhir. If Zaheer Khan starts his new innings from the Center of Excellence, then his chances of becoming the bowling coach of the Indian team in future can also be strengthened.
