William O’Rourke shares his opinion on needing 107 runs to win on Day 5 of 1st test between IND and NZ

William O’Rourke said that the New Zealanders will have to work hard to win Day 5 of the 1st Test between India and New Zealand. Devon Conway and Tom Latham were the batters when the game was stopped due to rain, as they needed 107 runs to win.

In addition, they are aiming to win their first Test in Indian soil since 1989. William does not want to cut India, even though only once it has been possible that the hosts have managed to successfully defended such a small target.

I wouldn’t say it’s an easy win from here. We’ve got a world-class team going up against us. But we’ve got to be confident going out there tomorrow. Hopefully, for our sake the rain stays away and we get a chance to have a crack at it,” O’Rourke said in the press conference after Day 4.

William also spoke about his views as he managed to get the match-turning wicket of Virat Kohli on the last ball of Day 3.

It’s obviously pretty special getting someone so great, one of the greats of our game, out like that. Obviously, you grow up watching those guys. So, to come here and take that wicket, it’s probably right up there,” O’Rourke said.

William also gave his sincere praise to Sarfaraz Khan and Rishabh Pant for their impressive performance in second innings of India.

I’ve been pretty hot and cold with the ball. Pant and Sarfaraz have batted very well for a long time, but that second new ball started doing a little bit for us,” O’Rourke added.
