‘Winning the gold medal in the 2028 Olympics is our next target…’ announced world champion captain Surya Kumar Yadav.

Team India’s next target : After India’s win in the T20 World Cup 2026, team captain Suryakumar Yadav got a grand welcome at Mumbai Airport. After this, on reaching home, Surya was made sweeter by giving him a bodysuit and a bouquet of flowers. During this, Suryakumar Yadav said on Tuesday that his next target is to win Olympic gold for the country.

Suryakumar Yadav said at the Mumbai airport, “It is very special to win the World Cup in India. It is a great feeling.” On returning to his home in Deonar area, he told reporters, “I feel very good to win two trophies in a row. After winning the T20 World Cup in 2024, we thought it would be great if we win the trophy on our soil in 2026. So, it feels great.”

The Indian captain further said, ‘We have momentum. Indian cricket team is in good pace. I will try to win more trophies for India in future. Our target now is to win the 2028 Olympics gold medal.” He said, ‘T20 World Cup will also be held in the same year (2028). By winning that we will also complete our hat-trick.

Let us tell you that on March 8, India defeated New Zealand in the final of T20 World Cup 2026 played at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The host team won the title match by 96 runs. With this, India has made the record of winning the T20 World Cup twice in a row. India is the only team which has won this tournament at most three times.
