some additional tips

  • To make Doda Barfi, first choose good quality khoya. Fresh and full fat khoya makes the barfi soft and creamy.
  • Always keep the flame medium while cooking so that the khoya does not burn quickly and thickens slowly. Keep stirring continuously so that there is no burnt taste in the barfi.
  • While adding sugar, make sure that you mix it slowly and let it dissolve well. This will balance the sweetness of the barfi and prevent crystallization.
  • If you want, you can increase the taste by adding cardamom powder or saffron. It makes the barfi aromatic and colourful.
  • After the barfi is ready, cut it into square pieces and let it cool slightly. It may break if it gets too hot.
  • Always use clean and dry utensils to get good results. Moisture can make the barfi soft or sticky.
