Wistoria: Wand and Sword Season 2: Plot details

Fujino Ōmori (creator of Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?) wrote, and Toshi Aoi drew, this fantasy action anime adaptation about a young man, Will Serfort. He attends Rigarden Mage Academy, which is an elite institution where people use magic to determine their level of power. Unfortunately, Will has no magical ability and cannot cast spells, even though he is an excellent swordsman and has superior physical abilities, which he uses to defeat monsters and accomplish other difficult tasks within the dungeons of the academy.

Will’s dream is to become powerful enough to reach Mercedes Caulis (a huge structure that serves as a barrier/tower maintained by elite wizards known as the Magia Vander) so that he may be reunited with his childhood friend and highly accomplished wizard, Elfaria Albis Serfort, who is also the youngest ever Magia Vander. Season one introduces us to Will’s challenges, friends, and opponents, as well as his fight to demonstrate his ability beyond just magical talents. Season two picks up immediately after season one ended, featuring more challenges posed by Will’s strong desire to succeed through “muscle and sword,” while facing stronger enemies and more intense fighting, as well as interaction with the political intrigue of the academy.
