Kiran, a resident of Majra Mallahanpurwa in Bahraich district of Uttar Pradesh, was feeding milk to her four-month-old son Subhash late on Saturday night. Hearing the screams, the villagers gathered and started searching, but despite searching throughout the night, no clue was found.
At around 9 in the morning, the child’s clothes were seen about a kilometer away from the house. According to departmental data, 10 people have lost their lives so far, while 32 people have been seriously injured. The forest department has deployed 32 special teams for combing and monitoring and so far four wolves have been killed, but villagers say that the danger is still not over. Their demand is that security and patrolling should be further strengthened.
