Wolfsburg courting Brentford’s Ajer, talks also held with Japanese striker

The Lower Saxony outfit is pursuing two deals to bolster their attack and defence.

VfL Wolfsburg are also exploring a winter deal for Brentford FC defender Kristoffer Ajer, Sky Germany has reported.

The 27-year-old is currently the other candidate for Wolfsburg’s defence alongside 1.FC Union Berlin’s Danilho Doekhi.

Ajer has only played a combined 1,204 minutes for Brentford this season between the EFL Cup and Premier League.

Meanwhile, the Lower Saxony club are also pursuing a deal for striker Kento Shiogai from NEC Nijmegen.

The 20-year-old Japanese youth international is having a breakout season in the Eredivise, netting 7 goals in 12 games.

Sky Germany has since confirmed that concrete talks are underway with the forward who is valued at €2.5million by Transfermarkt.com.
