Women from Sisendi region facing undeclared travel ban
Lucknow. Women and students of Sisendi area of the capital Lucknow are facing undeclared travel ban these days. This situation has been persisting for the last several months. It is known that the bridge built on Sai river in Jabarela located on Mohanlal Ganj Maurawan Marg has been closed for the movement of heavy vehicles due to it being dilapidated. The construction of the new bridge is expected to be completed in about two years. Due to this, women and girl students of Sisendi area are facing situations like sudden travel ban as the buses going to Maurawan run from Banthra via Asoha.
This situation is likely to last for about two years. Parents have to use unsafe means of travel like e-rickshaws and taxis to send their girl students and women to college and work. Regional residents say that if the route of suburban buses running from Lucknow to Mohanlal Ganj is extended to Sisendi, then safe travel facility can be provided to the women and girl students of Sisendi area. With this facility, about 25 to 30 people of Sisendi area will be benefited. Women and girl students of Gram Panchayat will get better transport facilities and the load factor of suburban buses of Transport Department will also increase.
