‘Women have given bad treatment to opponents…’ PM Modi warns opposition on women’s reservation
New Delhi: While discussing the Nari Shakti Vandan Act in the Lok Sabha, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that we have got this golden opportunity to include half of the country’s population in the policy making process. He stressed that this law should have been implemented 25-30 years ago. If changes had been made from time to time, the condition of women would have been better. Now this bill is adding a new dimension to the journey of development.
PM Modi said that we all are lucky to be witnesses of this moment. Developed India does not just mean roads, railways and projects. This means everyone’s support, everyone’s development. It is necessary to make half the population a stakeholder in decision making. This step will show a new direction to the politics, condition and direction of the country.
What happened to those who protested?
The Prime Minister said in clear words that whoever opposed women’s rights, the women of the country made a bad situation for them. He never forgave anyone. Women have now become very aware and empowered. In the last 25-30 years, lakhs of women have won elections by contesting and have become active in politics.
PM Modi reminded that nothing like this happened in the 2024 elections because no party opposed women’s reservation. When everyone moves together, it is not just one person who benefits, but the democracy of the entire country. The credit for this will not go to just one person, but to everyone. If we move forward together, no one will be harmed, rather everyone will benefit.
Women will no longer tolerate obstacles
PM Modi advised those who want success in political life that they have to understand that women have now come a long way. Women will not leave easily whoever puts any obstacle in their path. He said that this effort is collective and this will strengthen the democratic system of the country.
This bill is a big step to strengthen women from Panchayat to Parliament. The message of the Prime Minister is clear that increasing the participation of women will accelerate the progress of the country and democracy will become more inclusive.
