Women T20 World Cup: India got a shock, star spinner out of T20 World Cup!
Shreyanka was injured during the match against Netherlands on Wednesday. She twisted her ankle while trying to stop a ball that went towards mid-on after the very first ball of her spell. The injury was so serious that she could not put weight on her leg and had to be taken off the field on a stretcher.
However, the Board of Control for Cricket in India has not yet announced his replacement. But some spinner players of the India-A women’s team that went on England tour can be kept an eye on. These include Minnu Mani, Tanuja Kanwar, Vaishnavi Sharma, Prema Rawat and Captain Anushka Sharma.
This injury is another big blow for Shreyanka. Due to a broken finger in July 2024, she could not play that year’s T20 World Cup. After this, the problem of shin splints in both legs and then stress reaction in wrist also kept him away from cricket for a long time. Almost a year later, she made a comeback in the Women’s Caribbean Premier League 2025 and then contributed to RCB winning the 2026 Women’s Premier League title.
India has made a great start in the ongoing Women’s T20 World Cup. The team has defeated Pakistan and Netherlands in both its opening matches. Now the next match of the Indian team will be against South Africa in Manchester on Sunday.
