Women wandering for LPG gas in Haryana, black marketing happening for Rs 2500-3000 – Anurag Dhanda
LPG Gas Crisis: Aam Aadmi Party’s national media in-charge Anurag Dhanda launched a scathing attack on the Modi government at the Center and the BJP government of the state over the increasing shortage of LPG gas in Haryana. He said that due to the negligence of the government, a serious crisis of LPG has arisen in the entire state and the general public is facing huge problems.
No cylinder even after queuing up
Anurag Dhanda said that in many cities and towns of the state, long queues are forming outside the gas agencies since morning. People have to return empty handed even after waiting for several hours. The situation has become so bad in Panipat, Karnal, Hisar and surrounding districts that at many places people are not able to get cylinders even after standing in line for 7 to 9 hours. At many places the shutters of gas agencies are closed and people return back after getting upset.
Cylinder runs out in a few minutes
He said that according to reports, gas delivery in many districts is happening at a huge decline compared to normal days. At some places, 200 cylinders are being exhausted from one agency within a few minutes while hundreds of people remain standing in the queue. Anurag Dhanda has also attacked the government on black marketing of gas cylinders across the state, saying that in Ambala, commercial cylinders are being sold for Rs 2800 instead of Rs 1450 and in Panipat, people are forced to buy commercial cylinders for Rs 2500.
Fraud in the name of LPG gas
At the same time, domestic cylinders are available for Rs 1500 to 1800 instead of Rs 990. Apart from this, at many places people have also received messages of gas being delivered without booking, which directly means that fraud is being done in the name of LPG gas. Along with domestic consumers, the work of hotels, dhabas, tea stalls and small traders has also been badly affected.
Businesses on the verge of closure
Anurag Dhanda said that the situation has become so bad in many parts of the state that people are forced to resort to wood stoves or other alternatives. Due to shortage of gas, small businesses are on the verge of closure. Complaints about black marketing of cylinders are also coming to light from many places, where Rs 2500 to Rs 3000 are being charged for a cylinder. This directly shows the failure of the government.
People leaving their jobs and standing in line
He said that in many villages of Haryana, women are making rounds of gas agencies from morning till evening. Elderly and working class people are forced to leave their jobs and stand in queues. It is extremely unfortunate that in a country where the drum of “Ujjwala Yojana” is trumpeted, today it has become difficult to light a stove in the homes of the poor and middle class.
Gas crisis situation in Haryana
Anurag Dhanda said that the BJP government only does politics of propaganda and statements, but the ground reality is completely different. If the government had proper planning and management, such a situation of gas crisis would not have arisen in Haryana. The Aam Aadmi Party government in Delhi has shown that with honest intentions and better system, the people do not have to face such problems.
AAP party stands with the people of Haryana
He demanded the Central and State governments to immediately increase the gas supply, take strict action against black marketing and provide adequate stock to the agencies in all the districts. Also said that Aam Aadmi Party stands with the people of Haryana and the party will continue to raise this issue strongly until the people get relief.
