Women’s participation is increasing in AI industry, why do men dominate the top positions?

While on one hand the participation of women is increasing in jobs related to Artificial Intelligence and technology, on the other hand, recently an increase of 31 percent female employees has been seen in InstaHire company. In AI companies, women are not only doing ordinary work but are also working as design engineers, which is a big thing in itself. On the other hand, it is also being seen that even today there are more men than women in big positions in AI companies. According to InstaHire data, even today the number of women in top positions in AI companies remains only 17 percent.

These figures show that on one hand women are playing a positive role in AI companies. However, these figures also make it clear that even today, women employees are less able to reach leadership positions compared to men. Now the question arises why women have not been able to reach big positions in AI companies even today.

Why are women not in higher positions?

There can be many reasons for women not having high positions in AI or tech companies, such as family responsibilities, career gap, weak education system and lack of proper guidance.

  • career break –Many times working women take a break from their career after marriage and after having a child so that they can take care of the children. Due to this career gap, women’s careers often come to a halt and many times women even end their careers after having a child. Because of which women are able to reach higher positions in lesser numbers than men.
  • Education system-In many places, women were not given much emphasis on learning mathematics since childhood, due to which women choose other subjects instead of mathematics in education. For this reason many women are not able to make their career in technology and AI companies.
  • Lack of guidance- Many times women do not get the right advice or guidance. Because of this, instead of working at higher positions, they continue to work at lower positions.
