Workers warn of nationwide strike on May 1; Central and state governments will be under siege
New Delhi : The spark of agitation ignited by the strike of trade unions is gradually taking a bigger shape. A glimpse of this was seen in the massive agitations that took place in Noida for 3 consecutive days from April 13. Thousands of workers from many companies in the Noida industrial sector staged demonstrations for their various demands. Now, on May 1st Labor Day, the movement may take a nationwide form.
According to sources in trade unions, lakhs of workers from all unions will celebrate May 1 as ‘Mukti Day’ and protest against the central and state governments on this day. Union units in all states are holding regular meetings in this regard. Recently, industrial workers’ unions affiliated to the Center of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) in some states called a meeting of workers’ representatives from various industries, where a plan was drawn up to intensify the labor movement. Pay the minimum wage

The movement will begin on May 1, Labor Day, as the Day of Freedom from Exploitation. On February 12, more than 30 crore workers and farmers showed their strength by participating in a nationwide strike (Bharat Bandh) called by 10 central trade unions. However, this time the entire country will be shut down. The strike is against the central government’s 4 new labor codes, privatization of public sector enterprises and anti-labour policies.
Will raise voice against exploitation
According to CITU Core Committee members Comrades Sunil Dutt and Vinod Deswal, the working class, the backbone of the country, is facing a major economic crisis due to the exploitative policies of the capitalist ruling class. They are unable to earn enough for their families even after 12 hours of tireless work in industries. Their hard earned money is being looted. For the past two months, lakhs of workers from various sectors like refinery, automobile, garment and textile industries have been on the streets demanding hike in minimum wage due to rising inflation.
