World champion team India will be honored in BCCI’s Naman Award 2026

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will honor T20 World Cup champion Team India during its annual Naman Awards ceremony to be held in Delhi on Sunday (March 15). The board has also announced that the highlight of the BCCI Naman Awards 2026 will be to honor all the 5 Indian teams that have won the ICC trophy in recent times. That means, not only will the world champion Indian team captained by Suryakumar Yadav be honoured, other Indian teams which have won ICC trophies in recent times will also be honoured.

Which teams will be honoured?

The awards ceremony will honor the women’s team that wins the 2025 ODI World Cup, the men’s team that wins the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy, the team that wins the 2026 Under-19 World Cup and the women’s team that wins the 2025 Under-19 T20 World Cup. Along with this, BCCI also announced individual awards. Indian Test and ODI team captain Shubman Gill will receive the Polly Umrigar Award for Best International Cricketer (Men) for the 2024-25 season, while Smriti Mandhana will be honored as the Best International Cricketer (Women) for the fifth time in her career.

Former greats Roger Binny and Rahul Dravid will be honored with the Colonel CK Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award, the board’s highest honour. Former Indian captain Mithali Raj will receive BCCI’s Women’s Lifetime Achievement Award. Binny was a member of India’s 1983 Cricket World Cup-winning team and the leading wicket-taker in the tournament. He later served the game as a coach, selector and BCCI President from 2022 to 2025. Dravid has more than 24,000 international runs in his name. Dravid, one of India’s greatest batsmen, also played the role of head coach of Team India. India won the T20 World Cup in 2024 during his tenure as coach.

These players will also get awards

Among other players to receive awards, Ira Jadhav will be given the Jagmohan Dalmiya Trophy for the Best Women Cricketer (Domestic), while Shafali Verma will be honored as the Best Women Cricketer of the Senior Domestic ODI Tournament. Ayush Mhatre will receive the Lala Amarnath Award for the best all-rounder in domestic limited overs competitions. Vidarbha’s Harsh Dubey will be given the best all-rounder award in Ranji Trophy. Mumbai Cricket Association will receive the award for the best performing state association in BCCI domestic tournaments. The Mumbai team won four titles this season and finished runner-up in two competitions.
