World Tennis League: Sumit Nagal's Hawks beat Kites 20-17

Abu Dhabi Abu Dhabi: TSL Hawks defeated Kites 20-17 in a closely contested final league stage in the World Tennis League Season 3 at the prestigious Etihad Arena on Saturday. With this win, TSL Hawks finished second on the points table with 67 points and will now face table toppers Game Changers Falcons, who finished the league with 68 points. Game Changers The Falcons progressed to the finals despite losing earlier in the day thanks to their consistent performances throughout the campaign. Meanwhile, the Kites finished third with 63 points, while the HonorFX Eagles, who recorded their first win today, finished the season in fourth place with 54 points. Interestingly, Game Changers Falcons and TSL Hawks also faced each other in the first match of this season. In today's match, TSL Hawks' Aryna Sabalenka and Mira Andreeva continued their impressive form in the women's doubles by taking a 4-0 lead. The Kites duo of Simona Halep and Jasmine Paolini pulled the game back with a break of serve, while Sabalenka and Andreeva quickly took control and won the set 6-1 for the TSL Hawks.

After this, Kishori Andreeva maintained her momentum by performing brilliantly against Paolini in the women's singles. Andreeva broke Paolini's third serve to take a 3–2 lead and held her next serve to take a two-game lead and then comfortably won the set 6–4.

In men's doubles, Nick Kyrgios and Casper Ruud broke Sumit Nagal and Jordan Thompson to take an early 2–1 lead. Nagal and Thompson broke quickly to level the score, but their opponents took the lead and won the set 6-4, making the aggregate difference 11-16.

In men's singles, Casper Ruud took the lead by breaking Sumit Nagal's second serve and won the set 4–1. Although the Indian star showed tenacity, he trailed throughout and Ruud won the set 6-3, sending the game into overtime with the Kites' aggregate score at 17-19.
