China, Indonesia and Malaysia were Changi Airport’s largest passenger markets in 2025 as the airport handled a record 69.98 million passengers over the year.
The figure surpassed the previous high of 68.3 million passengers recorded in 2019, before the Covid pandemic severely disrupted global air travel, The Straits Times reported.
China was Changi’s largest passenger market in 2025, followed by Indonesia, Malaysia, Australia, India and Thailand.
China also recorded the strongest growth, with passenger movements rising 12.2% year on year.
China and Indonesia were also Singapore’s largest tourism markets.
Since February 2024, Singapore waived visas for Chinese citizens.
As of January 2026, about 100 airlines operate more than 7,300 scheduled flights a week at Changi, connecting Singapore to over 170 cities in 50 countries and territories worldwide.
Changi Airport aims to expand its network to more than 200 city links by the mid-2030s, when the new Terminal 5 opens.
Changi has been voted the world’s best airport by the London-based aviation consultancy Skytrax 13 times, including in 2025, and is consistently praised by travelers for its cleanliness, modernity, and efficient immigration procedures.
