World’s first Global South AI Mahakumbh in Delhi, will India become a role model for new tech policy?

India AI Mission: The country’s capital New Delhi is going to witness a historic technical event. India-AI Impact Summit will be held from 16 to 20 February at Bharat Mandapam. This is the first time that a global summit focused on Artificial Intelligence (AI) is being held on such a large scale in the Global South. Policy-makers, industry leaders and technology experts from across the world will participate in this event.

India’s big leap on the international stage

Rory Daniels, Managing Director of Asia Society Policy Institute, has expressed special enthusiasm regarding this summit. In a video shared by the Indian Embassy in the US, she said, ‘I am the managing director of Asia Society Policy Institute. I’m very excited to be in Delhi next week for the Global AI Impact Summit, where the Policy Institute will partner with the United Nations to host an event on trust and security in the AI ​​ecosystem. We are particularly excited to learn how India’s emerging AI guidelines and policy ecosystem can serve as a model for other emerging economies in Asia. I look forward to the summit and its excellent outcomes.”

Indian Embassy also started the countdown, writing, “Countdown to AI Impact Summit in India: 02 days India’s emerging AI guidelines and policy ecosystem can provide a model for emerging economies.”

Prime Minister will inaugurate

According to sources, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate this summit. This event can set new dimensions of AI governance not only for India but for the entire Global South.
