Yes, a new police post was inaugurated on Friday in Deepa Sarai area of ​​Sambhal and the most important thing is that the walls of this post are made of bricks and stones which were thrown at the police by stone pelters during the violence last year. This unique inauguration was done by 8 year old innocent Muslim girl Zunaira Faisal by cutting the ribbon.

On 24 November 2024, heavy violence had erupted during the survey of Shahi Jama Masjid. The crowd pelted stones at the police and firing took place. In this violence, four people were shot dead and dozens of policemen were injured. Following the violence, the police raided the entire area and recovered 15 trolley loads of stones and bricks – which were thrown at the police by the stone pelters.

Sambhal Superintendent of Police Krishna Kumar Bishnoi said, “After the violence, we decided that we will strengthen policing in the area with the same stone with which our soldiers were attacked.” The stones of these 15 trolleys were broken, bricks were made from them and then a new police post was set up in Deepa Sarai.

SP Sahab himself was present on the occasion of inauguration. 8 year old Zunaira Faisal was specially called to cut the ribbon so that the message could be sent that the police is not the enemy of any particular community.

District Magistrate Dr. Rajendra Pensia clearly said, “Deepa Sarai is the most sensitive area of ​​Sambhal. Criminals are habitually active here.” He said that 37 new police posts are to be built in the entire district, many of which are ready. Deepa Sarai chowki was completed first.

The SP said that after the violence, NBW (non-bailable warrants) have been issued against many old criminals and with the help of ATS, action is also going on against the suspects involved in terrorist activities.

Local people are also happy with the construction of the new post. A shopkeeper said, “Earlier I used to feel scared at night. Now the post is in front so you will sleep peacefully.” Police say that now patrolling will increase, criminals will be cracked down on and peace will be maintained in the area.
