WPL 2025 Schedule announced, will start with RCB match
WPL 2025 Full Schedule: The countdown for the start of the new season of the Women's Premier League (WPL) has started and the wait of the fans is about to end in a few days. The third season of WPL will start from 14th February and fierce matches will be seen between 5 teams. There are still a few weeks left for the tournament to start, but before that an important announcement has been made. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the schedule of WPL 2025 on 16 January. This tournament will start from 14th February and end with the final match on 15th March.
Competing in 4 venues for the first time
This time BCCI has decided to expand the scope of WPL and organize it in 4 different venues. In the first season, matches were played only on two grounds in Mumbai, whereas in the last season, Bengaluru and Delhi were also included. This time WPL matches will be held in Lucknow, Mumbai, Vadodara and Bengaluru, where 22 matches will be played in 30 days.
Starts from Vadodara, ends in Mumbai
This time the tournament will start with the match between defending champion Royal Challengers Bangalore and Gujarat Giants to be played on February 14 at the newly built Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara. The first 6 matches will be played in Vadodara, followed by 8 matches at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru from 21st February. 4 matches will be played in Lucknow from March 3, and the tournament will end at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai, where the last 4 matches including the qualifiers and the final will be played.
Players will get complete rest
This time BCCI has increased the duration of the tournament to 30 days to give rest to the players. Last year the tournament was held in 23 days, but this time the matches will start from 14th February till 15th March. Only one match will be played every day and teams will get 8 rest days. All matches will start at 7.30 pm.
