Harmanpreet Kaur’s strong innings, Amanjot-Nicola Carey’s excellent support, Mumbai Indians beat Gujarat Giants by 7 wickets.

The sixth match of the Women’s Premier League 2026 was played on Tuesday (January 13) between Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Giants at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. Mumbai Indians captain Harmanpreet Kaur won the toss and decided to bowl first.

Gujarat Giants, who came to bat first, did not have a very good start and the team lost the wicket of Sophie Devine (8) early. After this, Beth Mooney and Kanika Ahuja took charge of the innings and added 42 runs for the second wicket. Mooney scored 33 runs in 26 balls, while Kanika Ahuja played a quick inning of 35 runs in 18 balls.

Georgia Wareham held one end in the middle order and scored unbeaten 43 runs in 33 balls. In the last overs, Bharti Fulmali showed aggressive style and scored unbeaten 36 runs in 15 balls. After this, Nicola Carey also made a brilliant contribution and scored unbeaten 38 runs in 23 balls. Harmanpreet Kaur played an unbeaten captaincy innings of 73 runs in 43 balls and made an unbroken partnership of 84 runs in 43 balls with Carey for the fourth wicket and led the team to victory.

Renuka Singh Thakur, Kashvi Gautam and Sophie Divine got 1 wicket each for Gujarat Giants.

Overall, in the match, Mumbai Indians won by 7 wickets with 4 balls remaining and won the important two points.
