According to media reports, there are no tickets available for sale for the Women’s Premier League (WPL) matches on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, and now it has emerged that fans may miss the chance to watch UP Warriors take on Delhi Capitals (DC) and Mumbai Indians (MI) as well as the match between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Gujarat Giants. All these matches are going to be held at DY Patil Stadium.

It has been observed that three matches are not listed for sale on the tournament’s official ticket selling website. Now it has come to light that all these matches can be played behind closed doors in empty stadiums, in which fans will not be allowed to enter this famous place. The reason for this is the municipal elections to be held in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai, which are going to be held on January 15.

When there is a match between Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Giants on Tuesday, no fan will be allowed in the stadium. However, an official decision has not been taken yet whether spectators will be allowed in the matches before and after the day or not.

BCCI secretary Devjit Saikia told Sportstar, “We may have to play those two matches (on January 14 and 15) without spectators. After the police information, we are thinking about this idea, but no decision has been taken yet.”
