Meg Lanning made a special record even after getting out for 30 runs, leaving Ellyse Perry behind

Gujarat Giants Women vs UP Warriorz Women: UP Warriors captain and veteran batsman Meg Lanning made a special record on Saturday (January 10) in the WPL 2026 match against Gujarat Giants at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.

Lanning played an innings of 30 runs in 27 balls, in which he hit 5 fours. With this inning, Lanning has reached the second position among the players who have scored the most runs in WPL. Lanning now has 982 runs in 28 matches at an average of 39.28. In this list, he left behind Ellis Perry, who has 972 runs in his name in 25 innings. Nate Sciver Brunt of Mumbai Indians is at number one with 1031 runs in 20 innings.

UP Warriors had a bad start while chasing the target. Lanning then took over the innings with Phoebe Lichfield and made a 70-run partnership for the second wicket.
