Writing ‘objectionable slogan’ on Delhi-Dehradun highway became costly! 3 including two girls arrested; Big action by police on trying to spoil the atmosphere
Saharanpur Police has taken major action against mischievous elements trying to disturb communal harmony on Delhi-Dehradun Highway. Police have arrested two girls and a young man for writing objectionable and communal comments on the elevated road of the highway. The three arrested accused have been sent to jail after being produced in the court.
The incident happened a few days ago, when unknown people had written a controversial message in English using spray paint on the elevated road of Delhi-Dehradun Highway. In the message, objectionable remarks were made regarding the entry of a particular community on the highway. It was written – This road is not for Muslims. The video of this incident spread like wildfire on social media, after which local people and social media users expressed strong displeasure. Since the matter was sensitive, there was a lot of uproar over these words written on the highway.
Challenged the police by making a video
After the incident, on the complaint of NHAI (National Highway Authority of India) employees, the police had registered a case against the unknown. During investigation it was found that the accused were associated with Hindu Raksha Dal. Amidst the action, some more videos of the accused went viral on social media, in which they were seen openly challenging the police and administration. These videos raised questions on the functioning of the police, after which the police intensified the raid to arrest them.
Arrest after hard work
The police team conducted raids in Dehradun and surrounding areas on the basis of technical evidence and informer’s information. Ultimately, the two girls who were the main accused in writing the hate messages and a young man who helped them were caught by the police. According to the police, the main objective of the accused was to create communal tension and spoil the atmosphere. Police said- Any activity that disturbs communal harmony will not be tolerated in the district. Social media is being monitored and strict legal action will be taken against anyone spreading hatred.
