Batting coach Sitanshu Kotak has expectations from the team
Indian team’s batting coach Sitanshu Kotak has high expectations from the team captained by Shubman Gill. While talking to Sportstar, he said that there is definitely pressure on the team, but the Indian team is very strong in red ball cricket. Kotak said- “There is definitely a lot of pressure. But our team is also excellent in red ball cricket. I think Shubman’s injury was also a reason for the match we lost against South Africa in Kolkata. However, it is true that we did not play well. We have to accept it.”
‘We will find our way to the final’
Further he said that ‘Our players are also human beings. Their performance may also deteriorate. Then in the next match we lost the toss and things did not go in our favour. So it was difficult to digest that we could lose two Test matches like this. However, I am confident that we will keep fighting and find a way to reach the World Test Championship final.”
There was disappointment against South Africa
During the first Test played in Kolkata in November 2025, Shubman Gill was injured in the first innings and retired hurt and returned to the pavilion. After this he did not come to bat in the second innings. He was also ruled out of the second Test due to injury. In this series, South Africa had made a clean sweep by defeating India in both the matches, which was a big blow for Team India.
