Yamaha Tricity 300: World’s first airbag scooter Yamaha Tricity 300 launched, know its features and power

Yamaha Tricity 300 : Yamaha has now introduced the world’s first airbag equipped scooter, the Yamaha Tricity 300. This three-wheeled scooter is designed for better balance and stability. Now, it has become the world’s first scooter with an airbag developed in collaboration with Autoliv. Airbag is installed in the front apron (front part) of the scooter and it works with the help of advanced sensors that detect sudden shocks. In case of a frontal collision, the airbag deploys immediately to protect the occupant from shock and reduce forward speed. In cars where airbags work in conjunction with seat belts, this system is specifically designed to prevent the occupant from being thrown forward and reduce injury. It has been extensively tested in both simulation and real crash tests. Buyers will have the option to choose between airbag or non-airbag variants.

While airbag technology isn’t entirely new to two-wheelers – models like the Honda Gold Wing Tour already have it – but its inclusion in the scooter makes it much more accessible to everyday riders. Similar ideas were previously seen in the Piaggio MP3, but this is the first production-ready scooter in the segment.
