Yamaha XSR155 Metallic Black Launched …
Yamaha XSR155 New Color Launch: Today is a special day for bike enthusiasts as India Yamaha Motor has launched its most popular modern-retro bike, the Yamaha XSR155, in an all-new “Metallic Black” shade. Launched at an attractive ex-showroom Delhi price of ₹1,58,990, this bike is designed for riders who desire a strong road presence and a premium feel.
Retro Style and Premium Finish
The Yamaha XSR155’s design has always been a perfect blend of nostalgia and contemporary taste. The new Metallic Black color adds a new depth to the bike’s classic, muscular fuel tank and minimalist bodywork. The most striking feature of this black theme is the golden USD front forks, which, with their contrasting black and gold colors, give the bike a premium superbike feel.
Its round LED headlamp and compact tail section fully retain its retro sports DNA, making it look like a piece of art on the road. Yamaha has not made any changes to its simple body design, but the combination of deep black paint and golden suspension enhances its visual appeal exponentially.
Unparalleled Engine and VVA Technology
At the heart of the XSR155 beats Yamaha’s reliable 155cc liquid-cooled 4-valve engine, considered the most advanced in its class. The engine’s key feature is its VVA (Variable Valve Actuation) technology, which ensures good torque even at low speeds and a steady power output at high speeds.
This engine generates a maximum power of 13.5 kW and a peak torque of 14.2 Nm, giving this lightweight bike lightning-quick handling. Whether you’re in heavy city traffic or on the open highway, its acceleration will never disappoint, and with the help of a 6-speed gearbox, you’ll enjoy a smooth ride.
Safety and Control
Yamaha has not compromised on rider safety and control with this new offering, as the bike is based on Yamaha’s signature Deltabox frame. For high-speed stability, it features an aluminum swing arm and linked-type monocross rear suspension, which easily absorbs rough terrain.
To further enhance safety, dual-channel ABS comes standard, preventing the wheels from locking up during sudden braking. The traction control system also boosts rider confidence by preventing the bike from skidding on wet or slippery roads. The presence of an assist and slipper clutch makes gear shifting extremely light, preventing fatigue even on long journeys.

Riders’ Choice
On the special occasion of the launch, Yamaha Motor India Group Chairman Hajime Ota expressed his delight, saying, “We believe in constantly innovating and meeting our customers’ demands.” He added, “The overwhelming response the XSR155 has received since its launch in India is a testament to the growing popularity of modern retro sports design here.
When our customers specifically requested a black variant, we immediately responded to their preference. The Metallic Black XSR155 is not just a new color; it strengthens our connection with riders who seek a unique blend of style and performance, and Yamaha will continue to offer products that are a true joy to ride.”
