Yami Gautam’s Instagram ‘like’ sparks debate after Kriti’s award win
Actor Kriti Sanon winning Best Actress at the Zee Cine Awards has sparked debate online after Yami Gautam was seen liking an Instagram Reel that questioned the result.
The 35-year-old diva received the award for her role in I love you so muchbeating other nominees.
Soon after the ceremony, some fans of the 37-year-old actress argued on social media that she deserved the honour instead for her performance in Haq.
The discussion grew after an Instagram page posted a Reel showing Kriti happily posing with her trophy. The clip was paired with a previous interview of Yami speaking to THR India.
In the interview, the Article 370 actress says: “You try everything, and it still doesn’t work. So, I’ve stopped seeking any kind of validation. If I get that award, then I am a good actress, and otherwise, I’m not. Nothing like that.”
The Reel ends with the line “Is it fair?” referring to the Crew lead receiving the award over the Uri actor.
The post also mentioned that the capable star’s fans believed she deserved the win. The video gathered many likes, including one from Yami herself.

Netizens quickly picked up on the like and began debating it. One person wrote, “ewww whys she dragging kriti when all kriti does is mind her business.” Another commented, “How insecure is yami? She has always been shading others openly.” A user also wrote that Article 370 “was neither some great movie nor her performance was outstanding or anything.”
Others disagreed with the criticism. One user wrote, “Why So much hate on Kriti winning the award, Award Kriti ko mile ya Yami ko both are deserving.”
Meanwhile, Kriti shared pictures from the night on social media.
“Mukti has my heart, and it’s a little more Gold now..Thank you @zeecineawards for this appreciation!” she wrote, also thanking director Aanand L Rai and co-star Dhanush.
