Delhi Blast News: Investigation into the car bomb blast near the Red Fort in Delhi has revealed that the mastermind of this conspiracy, Dr. Omar Un Nabi, was trying to recruit another suicide bomber. One such person had even fallen into his hands, but at the last moment something happened that made him step back.

Yasir Ahmed Dar, a resident of Shopian, held back from becoming a suicide bomber on the pretext of helping his family during the apple harvest season. Officials said on Sunday that Dar was the possible second suicide bomber, but his retreat foiled Dr Omar’s plans.

Umar Nabi had committed suicide attack

Srinagar Police and NIA have busted a terrorist module run by Nabi. Investigation revealed that on November 10, Dr. Nabi himself had taken a car filled with explosives near the Red Fort, in which more than 12 people were killed. Dr. Nabi’s strategies were revealed during the interrogation of the arrested suspects. Based on this information, NIA arrested Yasir Ahmed Dar, a resident of Shopian.

Yasir backed out from becoming a fidayeen

According to investigating officials, Dr. Umar un Nabi had groomed Yasir Ahmed Dar to become a suicide bomber, but he backed out in August last year. He made the excuse of house repairs and apple season to change his mind at the last minute. Investigation revealed that Dar was in contact with Nabi since 2023. Dr. Omar had completely radicalized him.

Why was Yasir influenced by Umar Nabi?

Yasir Ahmed Dar admitted that Dr. Umar un Nabi’s being a doctor was the biggest reason which impressed him. Because he was a doctor, his radical ideas seemed more credible and effective. Investigation revealed that Dr. Umar Un Nabi was not only a terrorist, but he was also cleverly recruiting new members.

How dangerous was Umar’s plan?

He was also creating a separate covert team so that the attacks could continue even if the white-collar terror module was caught. During investigation, a voice note was recovered from the phone of one of the accused. In this, Dr. Umar Nabi can be heard taking the oath of loyalty for Jihad. College dropout Yasir Ahmed Dar had earlier come under the scanner as one of his friends was associated with terrorist organizations.

Officials said Dar was in touch with Nabi through Telegram app. Dar was constantly instructed to maintain his physical fitness. According to investigators, Yasir Ahmed Dar was the second person whom Dr. Omar was trying to recruit as a suicide bomber.

‘Suicide necessary for terrorist attacks’

Dr. Omar believed that suicide bombers were necessary to carry out terrorist attacks. Last year, when Srinagar Police busted this module, Yasir Ahmed Dar alias Danish was arrested from Qazigund in south Kashmir.

Why did Yasir Dar step back?

The plot failed in April last year as Yasir decided to retreat. He cited his poor financial condition and the prohibition of suicide in Islam as the reason behind this. Srinagar Police, under the leadership of Senior Superintendent of Police Dr. GV Sandeep Chakraborty, busted this module.

There was a plan to attack on Babri’s anniversary.

Dr Omar is believed to be planning a vehicle-borne terrorist attack on December 6, the anniversary of the Babri Masjid demolition. His intention was to place a vehicle full of explosives in a crowded place. Interrogation revealed that this change in Dr. Umar started after his visit to Türkiye with co-accused Dr. Muzammil Ahmed Ganai in 2021. He met a Jaish-e-Mohammed handler in Türkiye.
